I made SATgram because SAT prep is boring and your phone isn't. So I figured — why not make the prep feel like the phone?
SATgram is a free SAT prep app that works like a social feed. You get one practice question at a time, full screen — Math, Reading & Writing, or both. You answer it, you find out right away whether you got it and why, and you swipe up for the next one. It runs in your phone's browser, so there's nothing to download, and you can start practicing without making an account.
It's built for high schoolers studying for the digital SAT who'd rather do two minutes of practice five times a day than sit down with a prep book for three hours — words in context, grammar and punctuation, algebra, data and statistics, and the handful of traps that show up on the test over and over. Every question comes with an explanation, and explanations are never locked behind a subscription.
The questions are written by me, not scraped from anywhere. They're built to match the structure, difficulty, and answer-trap patterns of the real test — so the reps transfer — but the passages and problems are original.
Here's the thing nobody says out loud: the SAT is very learnable, but almost every way of studying for it feels like homework wearing a costume. Thick books. 300-question PDFs. Timers that make your stomach hurt. Meanwhile you can scroll a feed for two hours without noticing. 🫠
That gap always bugged me. The problem was never that teens can't focus — it's that the good stuff (real practice, real progress) was wrapped in the least fun packaging imaginable, and the fun stuff was designed by people who studied exactly how your attention works.
So I stole their playbook. 😏
Basically: if you're going to be on your phone anyway, you might as well accidentally get better at the SAT while you're there.
SATgram is early and I'm building it in the open, one feature at a time. If something's broken, confusing, or you have an idea that would make it better — I genuinely want to hear it. This is very much a work in progress, and that's kind of the fun part.
Is SATgram free? Yes. You get 10 answer-checks a day for your first week, and 3 a day free after that — permanently, not a trial that locks you out. There's a paid Premium tier for unlimited checks, practice picked for your weak spots, and streak protection, but explanations are free for everyone either way.
Do I need an account? Not to start — open it and you're practicing in about fifteen seconds. Making a free account saves your streak and progress so they survive switching phones or clearing your browser.
What does it cover? Both sections of the digital SAT: Math (algebra, advanced math, problem-solving and data analysis, geometry and trig) and Reading & Writing (information and ideas, craft and structure, expression of ideas, standard English conventions).
Is there an app to download? No, and you don't need one. SATgram runs in your phone's browser. In Safari, tap Share → Add to Home Screen and it opens full-screen with its own icon, exactly like an App Store app.
